Dear community,

This week we ask you to help the Divine Office ministry. We are sustained by your contributions. 0 people come to DivineOffice.org and pray every day, yet only 2,224 people contribute on average $2.74 each month. I makeup the shortfall to keep the ministry operating and improving, but this is not sustainable for the longterm with the growth in our prayer community and should anything happen to me. We also don’t want to simply maintain, we want to improve and add optional memorials, support for all religious orders, and in multiple languages. With our mission to bring everyone everywhere into praying the Liturgy of the Hours we want to keep Divine Office free, without subscriptions and with no ads.

The Divine Office prayer community is something special with people of all cultures, rich and poor, all praying together around the globe. We are one body making a difference glorifying God and intervening for the salvation of the world. So we are asking, only those who can afford to help to please give, a little or a lot, according to your ability to do so. Your contribution enables thousands of other people to pray with us and brings about miracles, which I am fortunate to hear about each week, in the lives of so many.
Please signup for a monthly contribution if you haven’t already.

To those that are already giving: we appreciate all the support you have given us through the years.
I am fortunate to have been given this work, His work, and I will continue to serve as long as I am able. Please help, if you can, to ensure Divine Office ministry continues and evolves long beyond me.

May God’s grace be with you all,

Dane Falkner, Divine Office producer and God’s servant

Cathedral of the Madeleine Choir School

The Cathedral of the Madelein Choir SchoolThe Madeleine Choir School, a mission of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Salt Lake City and a service of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, is an elementary school for children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight. Established in 1996, the school continues the cathedral tradition of preparing young people to engage the culture with the Catholic intellectual, artistic, moral and religious tradition. The Choir School pursues rigorous academic curricula in the humanities, mathematics and sciences, and the arts.

About the Cathedral

Led by The Right Reverend Lawrence Scanlan, Salt Lake City’s first bishop, construction on the cathedral on South Temple began in 1899 and was completed in 1909. Architects Carl Neuhausen and Bernard Mecklenburg combined a predominantly Romanesque exterior with a Gothic interior on the structure. A $9.7 million renovation begun in 1991 substantially enhanced and strengthened the structure. The renewed building was rededicated on February 21, 1993, and the cathedral is listed on both the Utah and national registers of historic places.
