The eyes of the world are once again turned to Rome, where the 2025 Conclave has begun. As the doors of the Sistine Chapel closed and the words “Extra omnes” (“Everyone out!”) echoed through the sacred space, the Cardinal electors entered into one of the most solemn and prayerful tasks of their vocation: to discern, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who will be the next successor to St. Peter. Pray anywhere
I have prayed the Divine Office for many years. [...] When I discovered this app, all of my concerns of ribbon placement were gone. Having the Divine Office on my phone is absolutely the best thing ever! The sense of community is so wonderful as I see how many others are praying at the same time as myself. [...] Now I don’t need to turn a lamp on as I use to when I used the Office printed volumes. It is such a blessing to have the Divine Office in my pocket. Many times I’ve been sitting in a doctor’s waiting room at the time of Mid Morning prayer. It is so calming of any worries to pull out my phone, open the app, and be able to connect with Our Lord at those times I need Him most. I don’t use the audio version much but the few times I’ve traveled, it is so comforting to not have to skip the Office in order to keep my hands on the steering wheel and my eyes in the road. I recommend this app to friends all the time, especially to those who’d like to pray the Office but feel intimidated by the size of the printed version and getting the ribbons placed properly. Thank you for developing this app. It is my constant companion.

Super helpful
I have only been introduced to the divine office prayers two times before I downloaded this app. It is laid out in a way that is very easy to understand, and there is an audio option that will say all of the prayers. There is an option to set reminders throughout the day. I got this because, I didn’t really know how to say the divine office, and I didn’t know what prayer books I needed to purchase to begin. During the shutting down of churches for covid :( this has been a wonderful resource. One cool feature is that you can tap on the “in prayer” link and see little specks of light around the globe lighting up in the area that someone else is praying. It’s so cool to see everyone praying with you and is a powerful reminder that we are all connected and unified in Christ’s mystical body.

Praying with the whole Church
I love this app! Since it is now free and no longer for sale, I made sure to donate the price of buying it, and then some. I have loved the Liturgy of the Hours for 25 years. But I always felt alone when I prayed it. With this app, I am connected to others! I use it in conjunction with my printed Christian Prayer volume. On other days, I cannot get to my book but with the app, I always have the prayers available. I have the printed calendar with my book, but I actually rely on this more for placing my ribbons. The audio is wonderful!! I often read out loud with it. I love that I can change the speed of the audio! I have found that 1.3 is good for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this app. Thank you for still supporting it. Thank you for updating the “one God,” to just “God” change in the prayers. My book still throws me off but your app is right! Highly recommend this. Many friends have it. THANK YOU!!

Oh yeah, Toni! Be sure to Offer Up your suffering to Jesus. This too is an amazing way to experience relief of a situation such as this. I have learned through my many experiences that when I offer up my suffering and trials, Jesus takes these gifts and turns them into great things! You can’t even imagine! So Jesus tells us to pray for our enemies and offer up our suffering to Him. Once again, Lifting you up in prayer. -Another Mary
I too suffered this abuse from Son in Law, as he lived in our home with my daughter and her child, and also pregnant. It was Hell on earth. My daughter and granddaughter also suffered. He was apparently dealing with Meth use, that I didn’t realize, and that my daughter probably didn’t want to see. I kept lifting him up to God, asking God to fill him with the Holy Spirit, as I figured he must be lacking the love that comes from knowing God and being in a relationship with Him. I kept praying before meals openly, I kept talking about God’s love openly, I kept my rosary out and visible, and I used it in the privacy of my bedroom. I kept pushing God and Holiness into the home, as he was trying to push evil onto us. Ofcourse, God and His love won this battle. This Son in Law ended up in jail for a while, then treatment, and is now completely clean, sober and usually present for his family. There is still some improvements to be made, but miraculous improvements have already been made and it is only because of the Glory of God. Keep praying for your enemy and keep bringing up God and His goodness into the mess of it all. Lifting you up in prayer. -Another “Mary”
Dear Toni, God Bless you and your family. The pain you are feeling is the torturing of your soul by unforgiveness. This condition only serves to punish the unforgiver as we are called to love and are not built to hold onto these feelings. When you are beaten down by a person who sounds like he is on a path to hell, it is the devil’s goal to take you with him. Please choose now to forgive and then go through a process that will help you to do so. I have a way that I use that works and just worked for me a few days ago as I was faced with the same unforgiveness you are facing, this time for me as anger toward people who had wronged one of my family. It worked for me now as it worked when I first used it more than 10 years ago. Please consider it (it takes an hour and I can testify to its power, and I gain nothing financially from sharing it) or head to confession and ask the lord for help. Better yet, do both, and the lord be with you and bless you! https://youtu.be/FmxxLN9RGA0?si=fdpSJWExTEcFRrT5
Extra grace be upon you ma’am. To stop the immediate abuse, you may consider letting your husband be aware of what is going on.
May I suggest you pray to St. Rita of Cascia, patron of abused women. She suffered for 18 years at the hand of her husband. A son-in-law’s abuse is no different. It doesn’t matter where it comes from. It’s all bad and all wrong. In my experience, forgiveness doesn’t always come naturally but is a work that begins with asking God for strength. With the right intentions, give yourself time to feel the pain inflected and acknowledge it. With time, you gradually will come to the point where real forgiveness can begin. It won’t if you continually are abused. Your family needs to put up a united front and confront the abuser. As a guest in your home, he should be grateful and not abuse. God be with you, friend.
This is true. I think much of the pain comes from his hurtful words and the injustice of what he’s doing. It upsets me to read other comments that pressure her to forgive. She will I believe but I’m praying this abusive, rude behavior is confronted by the LORD. And that she is comforted and consoled until there is some resolution. Thank you for your comment. Mary Undoer of knots, pray for us.
