About Today for St. Philip Neri, P

The First Sunday after Pentecost

The Most Holy Trinity

Solemnity

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Cor. 13:14).[1]

Today, the first Sunday after Pentecost, is the solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity. The mystery of the Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith. Through it, we learn who the one true God is and how He reveals himself to mankind, “…reconciling and uniting himself to men.” [2]

Liturgically, we have returned to Ordinary Time. With a deeper sense of the recent Paschal mysteries; we are encouraged to, “…be open to the action of divine Grace, to progress in love of God and of neighbor” and to enter more deeply into the life of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. [3]
